Wasted Time

I have been thinking a lot lately, and it has just hit me that I waste so much time every day. It's even sadder to think about how much time I waste every year. Now I probably don't know any of you personally, but I would bet that most of you struggle with this as well. I have come to realize that I can be doing so much more for the glory of God with my time; I just have to use it wiser.

At the TeenPact - 2009 Florida State Class last April (http://teenpact.com/), I learned that the average American wastes 4-6 hours a day on mindless activity, which equals up to a whopping 77 wasted days a year!! (If you don't believe me you can calculate it yourself.) Now I highly doubt that most of you waste 6 hours a day on mindless activity, but it is something for you to think about. Even if you are wasting 2 hours a day...that still equals up to 30 wasted days a year! Once again, 30 wasted days a year!! I know that number seems pretty crazy, but it's true.

Alex and Brett Harris wrote a great book a couple years ago entitled, "Do Hard Things." In the book, they write, "When God’s Word tells us to 'make the most of our time’ it means: Squeeze every last ounce of growth and grace out of every second of every minute of every hour of every day!”

I suggest we take this challenge; we should try to make the "most" of our time of every second from now on. Wether you are in highschool, college, or out of college, I strongly encourage you to not waste your time, and I'm going to try to do the same!

Before I end, I want to leave you with this great passage from the Bible:
"Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.” – Ephesians 5:15-17

Thanks for letting me share my thoughts with you. I would love to hear some feedback if you don't mind.....trust me, you will not be wasting your time! ;)
